DAY 1

THE LONGEST FLIGHT OF LIFE.

Toronto to Frankfurt with NO entertainment on the plane.  Movies costed money, TV shows costed money, the kid that sat infront of me wouldn't stop complaining and the food was dookie.  On the bright side, the transfer flight from Frankfurt to Berlin was extremely comfortable since I had an entire row to myself.

You would think a city like Berlin would have a nice, big, fancy, airport - nope.  The airport was small, old, and doesn't even have Wi-Fi.  It was kind of sad to see the baggage claim area literally right around the corner from where I got off the plane.  As people slowly got their bags and left, I started to worry as my bag was no where to be found; as usual, it was one of the last ones.  Relieved, it was time to walk 3m to go from baggage claim to find a cab.   Mr. Cabby was extremely nice and told me a lot about Berlin and his experiences travelling throughout Europe (he hates Berlin).  After a lengthy chat I finally arrived at mi casa.  I was told everything was new prior to arriving, but I didn't expect the place to have a fresh paint smell lingering and some of the furniture/cookware to still have tags on it.

I've always wanted an Ikea home.

After unpacking, I decided to go take a walk around since I saw some interesting things on the cab ride to the crib and needed to load up the fridge.  Right outside my doorstep are Coca-Cola and Universal Music offices!  Few minutes away there are lots of bars, clubs, cool little shops, the Oberbaumbrücke bridge, and the wall!
