DAY 3/4..

sunrise over the S-Bahn.
I should really stop naming these posts "Day X" cause really, who keeps count and who is actually reading this diary?  I'm already getting confused.  Friday night was unique.  I went to the store around 11ish, grabbed a beer and decided to walk around Friedrichshain; my lively, hipsterful, drunken, graffiti-fied, touristy neighbourhood.  I discovered many street food stalls that I will eventually get around to trying, a few sneaker spots (YAY!) and Simon-Dach Straße.  This street was literally, a strip full of bars/restaurants and shisha joints, all equipped with patios.  Patio heaven!
German 101: Straße = Strasse = Street
i think...
After witnessing all the drunks parading the streets it was time to head home.  On my lonely journey home I walked by a few clubs and finally, I decided, why not give going to the club alone a try *LOSER*.  I paid my cover (8 euro) and went straight to the bar.  Got myself a beer (3 euro).. and another one.. and then a Jack and Coke (6 euro) and another few more...Standing at the bar like the loser I am, people started coming up to me and talking to me and drinking with me.  I was no longer alone :')  Met people from Australia, England, Denmark, Switzerland, pretty much all of Europe.  Seemed like every single person there was a tourist.  Everyone was taking groupies (group-selfies) in the club.
dat mustard in between some white bread.
Eventually it was time to call it a night, left the club around 430 and it was still packed.  All 3 rooms were packed (each room had its own sound, le duh.)  - I was excited to go home and sleep after a day full of walking.. and it was amazing that my flat was 2 mins walking from the club =D

Woke up, made breakfast and went back to sleep.. next time I woke up was 3pm.  Time to head out and get my sim card and learn how to use the U-Bahn and S-Bahn with the assistance of a friend, yes I made a friend.  Got my 7 day pass for the transit and headed to some touristy areas and some shopping places.  I was told clothing costed more here and I didn't want to believe it until I went into the Nike store.  It was a sad day.  Everything is the same price as "the land of the free and the Home of the Brave", just the currency is Euro.
I FINALLY FIND YOU BUT WAI YOU COST SO MUCH? ='(
See those sexy pants?  I've been searching far and wide to capture them, word to Pokemon.  Looked for them in every store I went to in Asia - always sold out.  And now I've found them in all sizes and colours.  Sadly there were 80 euros a pair ='(  This is where my first pay check will go.

We head back to my place to set up my simcard as it required an internet connection and thank god I had someone help me, every instruction in the book was in German and everything on the website was in German.  But I'm finally connected and can use google translate and no longer need to take pictures of maps. So much win.

Time to head to the bars!  We ended up on Simon-Dach and everyplace rolled out a TV to show the Brazil-Netherlands game.  Not a single patio was TV-less and EVERYONE was tuned in. We bar hopped and ended up in a shisha lounge to enjoy the dismantling of Brazil.

TIL: A night out involves drunking (at least) until the sun rises.

that 5am sausage life..
